I wrote King of the World with Pete Goode and A.J. Babcock in the beginning of 2018.
We wrote this song in 45 minutes.
I walked in and said, I want to write a song called King of the World.
This is what it's about.
Let's write it.
And there's a line in either the second or first verse where it says, everything you
say starts with an I, but I'll never hear you say I'm sorry.
And that was from reading a text message from this person, and every sentence started with
I. And I was just like, there's no empathy for anything.
Other than him, than this person.
And so it definitely came from very real things like that.
I don't remember there being anything that we cut out because it was too bitchy or too
whatever.
I think the lines that were thrown out, I think ended up just being the lines.
We wrote it so fast.
