Thought of Chicago through the morning
I never stayed too long
But I liked what I saw
And I hope to be back soon
Spent my afternoons pacing
On the places I've been through
And each one seemed so new
Had nothing else to do
But I'm lonely tonight
Been lonely almost all my life
Hard telling what's wrong this time through
I blame it on the weather
I blame it on the wind
I blame it on the blues
Lying at my window, autumn shining
The light is dying me
Not unlike my own
Maybe I pride for the taken
Lost and forsaken
And not worth nothing
I know someday soon
But I'm lonely tonight
Been lonely almost all my life
Hard telling what's wrong this time through
I blame it on the weather
I blame it on the wind
I blame it on the blues
