Wasted Years is actually the oldest song on the record.
We wrote that song 10 years ago maybe,
and we used to play it live actually
on one of our first big tours of the States years ago.
And it kind of just sat there.
We always loved the song and kind of,
in an attempt to kind of reconnect to our past
and kind of give a little insight
into what we used to sound like.
Because it's never good to just completely abandon
who you are.
I think that we wanted to record this song
to finally kind of put it to bed and see it through
and give our fans that song.
But we can always play it live at any time,
and it's just one of those things that's nice
to have in your back pocket.
And it's a really cool song.
It kind of is that old school Maroon 5 thing,
and we love that one.
So we're happy we finally saw it through.
