The check for me was a concept revisited, I'd say.
A lot of people tried to find deeper meaning in it, like, who is it about?
It sounds like you've had your heart broken a few times.
I guess which I had, but I didn't zone in on any one individual.
It was more, I felt that my first, my very first single on vinyl, Still Caught Up, which was nominated for a Juno and did so well.
And it was a similar concept of, you know, those who don't recognize you until you make it.
And then when you make it, here they come.
It works so well.
Mastermind killed it for me.
And again.
Gave me hope that there was a lot more happening after my first, my first single.
And I was in the 12th grade at the time.
So imagine the feeling of that energy.
And it just pushes your imagination.
And that's really all it was, is imagination at play.
