Too many memories of another life.
Too many memories and it cuts like a knife.
Too many memories of another world,
digging for coal
and diving for pearls.
Too many lifetimes in a single go.
Changing locations like changing my clothes.
Changing my hair,
do you like my new look?
Changing beliefs,
better read in a book.
Changing my house,
changing my number.
Get in the car,
run from the thunder.
But sooner or later,
got to face down those shadows and let it all go.
Like fog in the meadow.
Melt away fog,
rise in a cloud.
Rise like my spirit,
returning to God. Rise like a young man,
meeting a virgin.
Circling the sea,
that becomes a new person.
Changing my hat,
changing my number.
Fly up to Rome,
run from the thunder.
But sooner or later,
got to chase down those shadows and let it all go.
Melt like fog in the meadow.
