It was seven below, there was inches of snow
as we boarded the terminal bus.
The people were many, in fact, hardly any,
just a company salesman and us.
The captain requested,
please don't get on board,
we'll be leaving within the half hour.
I sat in the ship trying to read a new book
while the airplane gathered up power.
And then we took to the sky with silver illustrious wings.
I looked down to the land and I saw lots of miniature things.
I loosened my belt and decided I felt
that it wasn't so bad in the sky.
And though I condemned it,
I had to defend it,
so glad that I gave it a try.
We left all behind,
I had a bomb on my mind and a journey I last could afford.
The captain said,
please get down on your knees,
we have an intruder on board.
I stumbled across a piece of metal with nothing to lose.
These things don't happen to me,
they only appear on the news.
My children were scared,
none of them dared move this way or that way or cry.
We circled the towers for several hours,
my wife just kept screaming out why.
With a gun in one hand,
a grenade in the other,
he appeared and he sat by my side.
He said,
don't be afraid,
just keep well behaved and he smiled undeniable pride.
We came down helpless,
aimless at the airport to refuel.
Our men had circled around and the engine started to storm.
I carry
a gun and you may think I'm wrong,
my reasons may seem hard to see.
Such a decision stains my ambition of seeing my country go free.
Oh,
I have misbehaved,
but our grandfather's slave gained nothing from meaningless lives.
When I have died,
some say that I tried to better our children's lives.
He said,
get down please,
and he fell on his knees and he crashed by the window above.
When bullets were fired at the man who was
hired to protest to the world for some love.
A shatter of glass,
I heard the man gasp,
fighting for every short breath.
He was shot in the head,
the hijacker lay dead and the world was so near of his death.
Here is the nine o'clock news,
the hijacker's been shot.
A spokesman for the army said he asked for what he got.
He never asked for ransom,
he never asked to go free.
His name is still unknown and probably always will be.
