So when I started work on Reprise, my friend Christian, who's an A&R person at Deutsche Grammophon, the song that he picked of all of my songs that he thought should be included was the song The Great Escape.And that made me very happy because The Great Escape clearly was never a hit single.It was an obscure song on the album 18.It doesn't have drums, barely has a chorus, but it's always been one of my favorite, very sort of delicate, pretty songs.And so this one came together so quickly because there aren't that many parts.You know, there's cello, another cello line, guitar, piano, orchestra, very quiet.And then I was able to build this trio, this wonderful trio of these three women with such phenomenal voices, Natalie Dawn, Alice Skye, and Luna Lee.And blending their voices with the cello.The orchestra, the piano, the guitar.I just was so happy with the way that The Great Escape came out.
