So
young when I first saw him,
maybe 19 or so
And I knew he could go places he never dreamed he'd go
There was a sudden something just impossible to hide
Dynamite in both his hands,
he swept them all aside
So
they nicknamed him the killer,
he lived up to his name
The guys that tried to fight him
never came out quite the same
The man the crowd just loved him in those up-and-coming days
Carried him on their shoulders while they showered him with praise
Woah, woah,
woah, woah, woah, woah, woah
Well they loved him like a brother,
cause he gave them all the thrills
Caring * about no self-defense,
only going for the kill
It took us beating down there,
but stood there young and tough
Never thought of backing up
when the gun got to us
He
came down like a shockwave,
but I easily won
Just tore him there, man-punching,
taking two and landing one
But that
avalanche of punches eventually took its toll
Like a constant drip of water,
west down the
heart of stone
And we all saw it coming in the inevitable fall
The night he lost his title,
and that title wasn't all
He just started slipping,
hit the skid,
slicking and greases
Strong power faded and that hero's worship ceased
But he couldn't stop the fighting,
custom made for the trade
What he blew,
made money on friends,
success it made
Saw him fight last night,
I wish I had been spared
This side of that broad *,
* who nobody,
nobody cared
His
eyes had lost their sparkle
His legs lost their spring And it really was pathetic,
the way he stumbled
through the ring While another start punched him dizzy,
punched
him silly,
bell to bell The lust mad hungry wolf pack,
rode into a
bear eat a whale
He's the same punks who once worshipped,
he shrined when he was king
Calling him a coward,
as he was groping round the ring
But he didn't seem to notice,
I fought him far till he was dead
He'll stand there and take it,
and keep the wolf pack fed
He
gave his youth and all his fighting
power Now they were bringing him down,
tearing him
apart My eyes grew *** and misting with tears,
for
that brave man gallant heart Man if only I could have my way,
I know exactly
what to do I would push him right in there with him,
one by one and two by two
I'd see him bash their empty heads,
egg like broken shells
I'd jump up on my chair and yell,
for blood while down they fell
I'd see him beg for mercy,
groaning in the night
What's wrong you guys, can't you take it?
Come on you scum and fire
