I appreciate that you've been checking out the Aaron Lewis State I'm In album
release special his album is out now you can download it you can stream it you
can buy it in the store and I have been talking to Aaron Lewis about all the
songs on the album and first of all I have thoroughly enjoyed this
conversation so I appreciate you being here with us we've got one last song
that we want to talk about off of State I'm In and that is The Bottom and first
of all I like this song a lot just because of the interesting feel I sort
of felt like it was like speakeasy country if you combine sort of those two
flows and feels of music that it just had kind of a different rhythm to it a
different jazzy feel to it had a little bit of some Willie Nelson in there yeah
you know musically mm-hmm and you know it was a it was a gut string guitar and
you know not a steel string and just kind of had more of that I don't know
what the sub-genre what that sound was that I mean really was it just was it
Willie I don't know but kind of a more easy listening swing kind of country I
guess the kind of big band era but country yeah type of a thing and yet if
people only heard us describe the song with those words they might think it was
a fun-loving song and yet it falls again into the category of parties over can't
take back reconsider State I'm In and love me so I'm guessing that this was
another one that you didn't write that when you heard it it said what you were
trying to say without dragging yourself further down that road of having to
write it yourself yes very much so there was a song on the last stained
record called the bottom to hmm interesting so those words were I'll
meet you at the bottom ah and this is claiming that I'm I'm there you hit it
where'd everybody go I thought everybody was gonna meet me here well we'll go
ahead and play the bottom I have a feeling there are some people waiting
for you there it's a heavy heavy song off of Aaron Lewis's State I'm In we are
celebrating that album right now on Big Machine Radio
