summer rain to this hot and dusty Texas.
Politics have gone insane,
too many people with just half a brain,
everybody's jumping on that southbound train,
right into the heart of Texas.
Whatever happened to swimming hoes laughing
and splashing till the day got old,
drying up so I've been told in this crazy place called Texas.
We just keep on growing where it's all going
ain't nobody knowing how about some slowing down
in Texas.
Whatever happened to open roads,
armadillos and horned toads,
life is changing I suppose in this crazy place called Texas.
Just give me a cold brew,
friendly smiles and some barbecue.
