Ladies and gentlemen,
Barry Manilow.
I'm gonna move a mountain,
maybe gonna fly as if I had wings.
Nothing or no one's gonna stop me.
I know that I'm gonna do great things.
I'm gonna have a sweet life,
sweetest life you've ever seen.
And when the day is over,
I'm gonna go to sleep
in a field of green.
Mama can you hear me?
Mama can you hear me?
Daddy, do you know what I mean?
Mama can you hear me?
Mama can you hear me?
Daddy, do you know what I mean?
I'm gonna be a hero.
I'll put a smile on a frowning face.
Oh yes I will.
I'm gonna fill the sky with music.
I'll make the world a better place.
And I'm gonna have a sweet life,
sweetest life you've ever seen.
And when the day is over,
I'm gonna go to sleep in a field of green.
Mama can you hear me?
Mama can you hear me?
Mama can you hear me?
Daddy, do you know what I mean?
Mama can you hear me?
Mama can you hear me?
Mama can you hear me?
Daddy, do you know what I mean?
Once
you find what matters in your life,
keep on pushing through the darkness till you see
the light.
You're gonna find it.
You're no longer behind it.
Now once you learn
what you've been doing wrong,
you can make the change you need to make to carry
on.
Now and forever,
the sooner the better.
Oh just remember now,
it's a long way up when you're coming from nowhere.
It's a
long way up when you're coming from nowhere.
You gotta fight a little harder.
You gotta push a little more.
You gotta gamble everything you got to get you
through the door.
Oh that's a long way up.
Don't give up the dream.
Hey don't you know it's dark before the dawn?
When you think you just can't take it.
You see, that's when you make it.
But you gotta fight a little harder.
You gotta push a little more.
You gotta gamble everything you got to get you through the door.
To get you through the door.
I'm gonna have a sweet life.
Sweetest life you've ever seen.
And when my day is over,
I'm gonna go to sleep and I'll feel the green.
Mama can you hear me?
Mama can you hear me?
Daddy do you know what I mean?
Mama can you hear me?
Mama can you hear me?
Daddy do you know what I mean?
I'm gonna have a sweet life.
Mama can you hear me?
Daddy do you know what I mean?
Alright now,
in putting this show together I wasn't
exactly sure what I wanted to do for you.
But something that John Kennedy once
said kept coming back into my head.
And it was this,
he said,
we can't know where we're going until we know where we've been.
And I like that.
I did, I like that a lot.
So I decided that I would follow President Kennedy's advice.
And I would take you back and show you some of the people
and places and things that I saw along the way to Mandy.
So hope you have a good time at our Broadway style show.
First stop on our little adventure,
my hometown Brooklyn,
New York.
So come with me.
Let's go.
