I like to think that I had strong enough convictions to give my life for something I believed. But the truth is that I've never been put in that position where I'd have to die to keep someone else free. But there are those who do it every day, and there are those who will tomorrow. So tonight I pray as I lay my worries down, Lord watch over those who still stand in their ground. I like to think that I had the kind of courage to speak the name of God where it was banned. I'd be the kind of guy who'd stay by her side when all the other guys would have ran. But there are those who do it every day, and there are those who will tomorrow. So tonight I pray as I lay my worries down, Lord watch over those who still stand in their ground. I make my living with this old guitar, I stand on this stage and I pour out my heart. It don't matter much in the scheme of things, I know I won't change a lot with these songs I sing. But there are those who do it every day, and there are those who will tomorrow. I know this song's not much, but it's the way that I know how for standing up for those still standing their ground. Thank you.
