Site 2 Captain Cook Duncan BayIf you stand at the lookout, look out to your left.From here you'll see a rock pool known locally as The Chord.This is a popular location for swimming, snorkelling, diving as well as launch zone for kayaks.If you look out beyond the pool, you'll spot a bay area known as Duncan Bay.Duncan Bay is where Captain James Cook was believed to have come ashore having discovered Norfolk Island in 1774.You might see a monument erected in a reminder of this landing.Captain Cook Reserve is a great place to come for a picnic or barbecue.You can also follow the bridle track over to the right, which connects many locations within the National Parks,including Mount Pitt and Bates, Bird Rock and Palm Glen.
