Remember when I was pretty?
Sexy, taut, and slim
You found me cute and witty
Far sexier than him
Well now I'm fat and wrinkled
Saggy, plump, and sad
But I have to tell you something It's not all bad
So much wisdom comes with age Copper turns to gold
A book is better than an empty page It's lovely getting old
The virgin soon becomes the sage Don't fall for all you're told
Remember when I was pretty?
And you were gorgeous too
How we both used to pity Geriatrics of 22
Time finally caught up with me I lost my hair and had to shave
Quickly I passed 23 And learned how to behave
My energy all sapped away Libido started to fall
I gave up wanting it every day Then didn't want it at all
When going to bed I had to say I heard a good book call
Remember when I was pretty?
Before the family came
Then we moved out of the city And retired to a country lane
Never thought we'd see 40 Then it came along and more
We gave up being naughty And then we passed 64
Remember when we were younger?
Thank heavens we lost that hunger
The peace and calm that came along Has made us pretty strong
But let's be honest,
we're content Don't wonder where the decades went
We're happy with the time we spent The smiles we shared,
the love we lent
We're grateful that we're still alive Here's hoping we'll reach 95
