Looking back,
I remember when my mother said to me,
she said,
you were a star since the day you arrived.
I could see that certain sparkle in your eyes.
As I grew older, I realized that she was right.
Yes, I did.
And even though there were times that I was lost,
always knew I could find my way across,
just as long
as I see the signs to the path I need to find.
In my life, there are so many open roads.
So I look for the signs to tell me which way to go.
Although I don't always see where fate is taking me.
Every day I always learn a little more.
My journey down the road.
I could be bitter from the times I've been burned,
but I appreciate those lessons I've learned.
The road ahead is full of opportunities.
And that's all I need to know.
