I also have out at Quail Springs, we have a little choir called Muddy Daughters, and this is one of the Muddy Daughters songs.
When I was a little baby, the moon came singing on the water.
She rocked me in the cradle, and I became...
Her muddy daughter and her song is the rhythm of my day.
Bright moon, bright moon, that's where the songs begin.
Bright moon, bright moon, that's where the songs begin.
We can dance.
Drink that moonlight up, drink that moonlight in.
I got a love note, I got a love note from the moon.
She's up there laughing, cause I write her back so soon.
Take a little breath, says she.
Boy, you write to me.
Her song is the rhythm of my day.
I got a love note, I got a love note from the moon.
She's up there laughing in her blue canoe.
Thank you for your note, says she.
I like it when you write to me.
Her song is the rhythm of my day.
Bright moon, bright moon, that's where the songs begin.
Bright moon, bright moon, that's where the songs begin.
Drink that moonlight up, drink that moonlight in.
When I was a little baby, the moon came singing on the water.
She rocked me in the cradle.
And I became her muddy daughter.
And her song is the rhythm of my day.
Her song is the rhythm of my day.
Her song is the rhythm of my day.
Ah.
Ah.
So.
As Alice mentioned earlier, I am going to be working on a little
record this winter with Bonn, and I'm really excited about it.
It's called, the first one, actually, there's three that are in a
little trilogy, and the first one I'm going to be working on is
called, Betty Arlene.
And it is going to be a collection of all the Betty songs.
And I wanted to, right now, I wanted to sing the first Betty song to y'all.
The first Betty song was created or came to me before I ever met the real Betty.
And the real Betty is an amazing woman who lives up on Figaro Mountain who is a natural builder and an artist.
And when I was playing at Cold Spring Tavern one time and I played this song, she came up afterwards.
And she and her husband are fabulous dancers and they were just dancing.
And I was just, I was just enthralled.
And then she came up afterwards and she said, that song, that Betty song is about me.
And I was like, wow, I want to get to know you.
And then I ended up writing a whole bunch of Betty songs.
I got to know her and we became really good friends.
And, yeah, so this is the first Betty song.
This is before, well, yeah, now, yeah.
Take a little sip of water.
