Today, came back to town. Took my school yearbook down. Opened the pages to a million memories.
Pictures from long ago. Kids that I used to know. And then, I ran upon a forgotten one of me.
Most likely to succeed. Such funny words to me.
I was the one, they said, most likely to succeed.
Thoughts took me far away. To graduation day.
My friends all wished me luck. Said, great, someday I'd be.
But all those dreams back then. Were but the dreams of men.
It seems that fate had so much different plans for me.
Had planned to stay around. Look up old friends in town.
Now I'll just leave again. Can't bear for them to see.
How far a man can fall. How much I failed them all.
They would know the one, most likely to succeed.
Most likely to succeed. No one has failed like me.
I was the one, they said, most likely to succeed.
