We're talking to Alex Williams here on big machine radio. He's one of our newer artists and he's got a fantastic new album out right now It's called better than myself and we were just listening to that song few short miles Bobby song You were talking about the fact that you had been playing some gigs down in, Texas And I know after high school you really got out started playing gigs all over and ultimately ended up spending quite a bit of time In Texas. Yeah, I imagine that you gained a bunch of experience memories and maybe even some trial-by-fire Playing the honky-tonks of Texas. Are there any stories that you can share? Maybe the the wildest the craziest the weirdest? Well, I think the strangest is this This lady gave me a stuffed animal one time after a gig. She didn't really have an explanation for us. She just gave it to But no, I mean I've been like any wild Really wild things that have happened. I mean have you ever been performing a bar fight broke out or oh, yeah There's been enough of those. There's there's been a couple flying bottles, but I still think that the chicken wires a Myth, I haven't seen that. Yeah So, I don't know All right. Well, we have one more song to play off your album better than myself and this is Another one. I'll be honest. I actually had to listen to this song a couple of times I got that you were singing about it seems to me Tell me if I'm wrong someone who's forgiveness you seek for having some done something wrong That's sort of the last cross that you have to bear What I couldn't decide as I listened to it because I think we all sort of interpret songs differently Who the she was because I thought well, it could be an old girlfriend or a lover. It could be your mother It could be which sounds kind of weird. But so I if you can can you tell me about last cross? Yeah, I mean it wouldn't about anybody from the past or anything. I think it's just more of like a After all the forgiveness if there is any at the end of the line just the yearning for somebody to be there at the end I think that's where my head was that with that just hoping for somebody to be there at the end. Gotcha All right. Yeah, I mean I listened and I thought how do I feel about this song? What do I think about this song and I couldn't tell if there was somebody you owed something to you in terms of you? know emotion or So that's why I like talking to people and finding out what the songs are about from your perspective Yeah, I wanted to put like a few short miles and last cross together I feel like it kind of blended there, you know, just a few short miles down the road and ends up to last cross All right Well, it's called last cross and it is the last song on Alex Williams new album better than myself and it's on big machine radio
