Johnny Boy
Johnny walked ten thousand miles
His feet kept getting bigger
And tougher so they say
Till they became a legend
That's still retold today
They tell about the time in camp
Somebody said, hey son
You've got your foot on a cold afar
And Johnny said, which one?
And in the thick of battle
Bullets flying every way
Old John would grin, stick out his foot
And watch them ricochet
Johnny went to war
He wore a great big grin
The enemy found Johnny's tracks
And some fell dead right then
The ones that didn't scare him
Just turned around and run
He never got a medal
But that's how the war was won
Old Johnny's story
Ends so sad
I hate to hear it now
But I won't keep y'all in suspense
I'll tell it anyhow
When he come home
He fell in love
With a pretty girl in town
She took one look
At them big feet
And laughed till she fell down
Johnny went to Big Swamp
He never did come back
They say his feet just grow so big
He got stuck in his tracks
And that his goat still roams
The woods that may or may not be
But meet the coward
That ain't going
In Big Swamp to see
