Why did I wander
Here and there and yonder
Wasting precious time
For no reason or rhyme
Isn't it a pity
Isn't it a crime
My journey's ended
Everything is splendid
Seeing you today
Has given me a wonderful idea
Here I'll stay
It's a funny thing
I look at you
I get a thrill
I get a thrill
I never knew
Isn't it a pity
We never, never met
Before
Here we are at last
It's like a dream
The two of us
A perfect team
And it's such a pity
We never met
Before
Imagine all the lonely years
We wasted
Fishing for salmon
Losing at backgammon
What a pity
Our joy is untasted
My nights were sour
Spent with Schopenhauer
Happiest of men
I'm sure to be
If only you
Will say to me
Isn't it a pity
We never, never met
Never, never met
Before
Imagine all the lonely years
We've wasted
I with the neighbors
You at silly labors
What joy is untasted
I reading Heine
You somewhere in China
I with the neighbors
Let's forget the past, let's both agree that I'm for you and you're for me.
And it's such a pity we never, never met before.
And it's such a pity we never, never met before.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
That's Billy Stritch.
A little love songs, you know.
That was great.
I like love songs.
And you know, I can't tell you how many times I've called Billy and, you know, said, what are you doing?
He said, oh, reading Heine.
Yeah.
And you were calling from China, which was really weird, too.
Or China, you know.
Okay, about three years ago, we were approached by...
By our, you know, by many important people in the business.
Oh, yes.
Oh, yes.
Very.
They were clamoring for us to do a tribute to Frank...
Billy, nobody was clamoring.
Well, come on.
Somebody asked.
Somebody mentioned it.
Somebody, actually, but somebody did ask us to put together a tribute to Frank Sinatra,
who at that, in 2015, it was his 100th, it was his centenary year.
But we thought it might be nice to pull out some of these, a medley that we put together
of some of his great saloons.
Songs.
Would you like to hear that?
Because you are.
Because you're about to hear it.
