All right! All right, take a seat! We don't have too much time, we started late!
Oh, wow! You know, I'm so excited that you're here for many different reasons.
Number one is that I've been renting out this theater and other theaters across the city
for the last two and a half years, doing these virtual presentations to like tens of thousands of people
online and having zero people in the audience.
And now that you're here like 83 years after the pandemic, I just want to say, welcome to my home.
Now, I just want to warn you, just a little bit specifically for the Android people,
because yes, you're going to be looking at this giant iPhone behind me the entire show,
and I know you're steaming, but you know, us,
I think we're going to be looking at this giant iPhone behind me the entire show,
and iPhone people have to look at your green-ass bubbles every single day, okay?
This is the face that I normally have when I see these green-ass bubbles.
That's the face that I normally have.
But I, you know, listen, I know a lot of people are, they're always confused as to what I do.
They see my stuff online, they're like, Sean, is this like a tech talk?
Is it a TED talk? Is it a TikTok? What is this thing?
And, you know, I'm like, I don't know.
You know, it all crystallized for me a number of months ago after one of my keynotes in Banff,
a woman came up to me, she said, oh, before you came on, I thought you were someone else.
And I'm like, oh, I know who it is. You thought I was Hasan Minhaj.
She said, that tall, handsome guy? No, no, that wasn't you.
She said, no, no, no, I really love him. I love his voice. He's very motivational.
He's very inspirational. I'm trying to find his name.
I'm like, oh, I know exactly what you're talking about.
You're talking about Jay Shetty.
She said, yes, Jay Shetty. I love Jay Shetty. I love his voice.
So when you started speaking, I got disappointed.
But then I heard the rest of the presentation and I thought it was great.
So I said, did you find it motivational?
She said, no.
She said it was kind of informative.
It was kind of like Sanjay Gupta.
And so I guess that's who I am.
So I asked her, I said, so if Jay Shetty, Hasan Minhaj, and Sanjay Gupta had a baby, that would be me?
She was like, yes.
So I guess that's what it is.
I think the other thing that people confuse about, because I'm a strategy and innovation guy,
that I give people advice or I give people answers.
And, you know, the beautiful thing about the world,
is that we already have all the answers.
Like, if you want answers, ask Siri, okay?
But if you want to innovate, if you want to discover yourself,
you have to ask bold questions.
And tonight, I thought it would be a really great idea to explore
a subject that I've been researching and exploring for the last four years,
which is really about how do you become a dangerous person?
How do you become a dangerous person?
Now, I know a lot of people are going to be streaming this and be like,
there's a brown guy telling a lie.
There's a large percentage of brown people to be dangerous.
We've seen this movie before.
But no, no, no, no.
Dangerous is not about violence.
Dangerous is about how do we go off and innovate?
How do we be bold?
How do we disrupt?
You know, I fell in love with this idea of disruption many, many years ago.
Because to me, disruption was this idea of something or somebody coming out of nowhere
and changing the status quo.
And I thought, nice, that's what I mean, right?
To me.
To me, that's inspiring.
That's inspiring that one person could change the trajectory of an organization,
of an industry, of themselves.
I thought that was inspiring.
So to me, dangerous is actually embodying this idea of boldness.
And I actually found a really great slogan for boldness a couple weeks ago.
And I found it at Subway.
This is crazy.
My wife and I, we love Subway.
Like, you know, the sandwich place?
And we, we, we, this is a real text thread between my wife and myself.
And guys, by the way, this is 12 years of marriage.
First year of marriage, lovemaking.
The 12th year of marriage, you become your wife's Uber Eats driver.
And, you know, I know a lot of people are questioning Subway.
You know, we just like eating, like, a whole loaf of bread in one sitting.
And I know a lot of people hate on Subway.
I know that because I go on Twitter all the time, and it's complete negative reviews.
But I did see this one positive review from Monifa.
She says,
And I like messing with people on Twitter.
So I just responded,
I just responded,
I just responded,
I just responded,
So I went to Subway, got my wife's order, got the order, and I see the sandwich artist.
And I swear to God, he's wearing this bold shirt.
He's wearing this bold shirt.
And I said, man, that's crazy.
I got a book.
It's called The Bold Ones.
I got this stage.
I got the bold letters.
It's incredible.
I want that shirt.
He said, sir, what kind of bread would you like?
I said, I don't know.
I said, man, you don't understand, man.
Bold.
An individual can disrupt an industry.
I love that shirt.
By the way, what's on the back of that shirt?
To me, this is it.
This is the slogan that I was looking at.
Make it what you want.
That's what it is, man.
And he told me, he said, listen, I just broke up with my girlfriend.
I'm just wondering if we can just speed this up.
And I said, oh, I'm so sorry.
You broke up with your girlfriend?
Man, say no more.
I know a girl.
Found the slogan at Subway.
