Growing up across the Hudson,
I stared out of my window
every night at the Manhattan skyline.
Reading the Sunday Times with a light under the covers,
I dreamed of having my own byline.
So I studied my butt off at Rutgers,
Ran the Student Gazette and got my honors degree.
I got a shoebox apartment in Bushwick.
It can barely fit a futon, but it works for me.

And my brilliant adulting
will soon be resulting in monumental story they cannot ignore.
