Tonight, before I came on stage, I had the opportunity to sit and visit with a lot of people that I consider family here. One of them being my friend Robert Kraft, who told me that music and sports bring people together like nothing else in the world that we have. And I sincerely believe that. I believe that music is the most powerful thing we have. Tonight, everybody, I want to thank you, because tonight is the 15th time we have played the home of the New England Patriots. Thank you! And that is powerful. It's because you care about the songs, the music, our connection. Right? So, with that, I love you. And this is a song that I wrote about what stamped my life as a kid growing up in East Tennessee. So if you know the words, feel free to come along with me. Alright? Jack and Diane painted a picture of my life and my dreams Suddenly this crazy world made more sense to me I heard it today and I couldn't help but sing along Cause every time I hear that song And I go back to Tucson, showing back Chevy Darling, the first love out to the levee Living life with no sense of time And I go back to the feel of a $50 line A blanketed girl with some raspberry wine Wishing time would stop right in its tracks Every time I hear that song What do we do? Well, I go back Yes, we do! Take it! Well, I used to rock all night long They keep on rocking me, baby At frat parties and college bars Just trying to impress the ladies I heard it today and I couldn't help but sing along Cause every time I hear that song And I go back to the smell of an old gym floor Taste of salt on the Carolina shore The graduation drink and goodbye to free And I go back to watch the summer fade to fall Growing up too fast and I do recall Wishing time would stop right in its tracks Every time I hear that song Well, I go back We all have a song that somehow stamped our life Takes us to another place and time Yeah So I go back to the beautiful preacher and choir Singing about God and brimstone and fire The smell of Sunday chicken after church And I go back to the loss of a real good friend The 16 summers I shared with him And now only the good die young Stops me in my tracks Every time I hear that song I go back I go back To the smell of a 50-yard line A black-haired girl, some raspberry wine I go back To watch that summer fade to fall Growing up too fast and I do recall Well, I go back To the loss of a real good friend The 16 summers I shared with him I go back I go back I go back We're starting to feel the Holy Spirit in here now! We're starting to feel the Holy Spirit in here now!
