This is the celebration of Taylor Swift's fearless 10-year milestone. It's happening this fall. And this next song is called Hey Steven. And I've actually heard rumors over the years about who this song was written about and for, but I'm not one to gossip. But Taylor explains how every song is written from an experience, but not necessarily a very long one. The song itself was sort of the example of how I can be inspired by, like, literally one conversation or not even a relationship. The song is basically a song that I wrote about this guy that I had a crush on, and I'm basically trying to convince him to like me in the song. The entire song, I'm trying to give him all these reasons why he should like me. My favorite part of the song is where after the bridge, it goes, Hey Steven, I could give you 50 reasons why I should be the one you choose. All those other girls, while they're beautiful, but would they write a song for you? It's just such a fun song, and it's the happiest groove I've ever written. So it's really interesting and fun for me to write songs about people who have no idea that they're gonna have a song about them on the album. It's really funny. I wonder if that guy knew that this song was about him. Surely he must have known. It's Hey Steven on Big Machine Radio.
