Loving in due season when the snow is high
Out collecting hailstones underneath the sky
Loving in due season in my younger day
Solomon of Kingdom never felt this way
I was crazy searching,
could I be so wrong?
For their own were smoky and their bill was strong
But my friends ain't changed much and they're just the same
We were silly children playing in our game
Our creator teach me,
tell me what to do Shall I lie completely,
will my dreams come true?
Then I met this young girl,
kept my mind quite sane
Thank you for the visit,
won't you come again?
There's a voice beyond me that I cannot reach
And their words are saying,
practice what you
preach
And do unto others,
likewise unto you
Once in a while only,
till your journey's through
But I need assistance,
won't you lend a hand?
From the slums of Soho to the promised land
Because I've seen your faces in the eastern light
On a West Street garden
on a winter's night
As I sing my poem with a simple rhyme
Telling of the bad days to the present time
Speaking of the person that I sometimes hate
But I leave the journey in the hands of fate
