I think we were the freshest sound that I ever heard.
I mean, I don't think that the Beatles collectively, vocally,
are as good as the Mamas and Papas were.
Individually, they each have something going.
Paul is one of the great all-time singers,
and John is a fantastic singer,
and even Ringo is emerging as a singer.
But collectively, I don't think there's been a group,
the Mamas and Papas had a sound that electrified us.
