Yesterday
I saw my hometown
And I have to say that it brought me down
Kids like me
playing football in the park
Chasing the ball
until it gets to the dot
Bicycles with school bags on their way to
law and order
Children under pressure suffering from boredom
Yesterday
I saw my hometown And I have to say that it brought me down
Men at work like my dog They stick to the rules
Wives do shopping every day and in the
window pane They inspect their new hairdo
And I feel so miserable in this lifeless circus
Where is the new power generation?
Where are my fellow workers?
I'm walking in ghost town
I hear nothing but unreal sound
I never knew my environment had been so cold
I knew there was something else
There was a secret to be told But no one came to me
I had to find it on my own
Because the citizens of ghost town only know
What they managed to know And I wonder why I never find the key to
break the spell
I try to do the opposite
But what's the opposite of hell?
I'm walking in ghost town
I hear nothing but unreal sound
Yesterday I saw my hometown
And I have to say
that it brought me down
I'm walking in ghost town
I hear nothing but unreal sound
