So Get Rich or Drunk Trying, that's a title that I've had for eight or nine years. For people out there watching, every songwriter, singer-songwriter,I mean, you keep, whether it's in your phone, whether it's on a notepad, you keep this list of ideas forever, and you throw them out there, and you think, and sometimes, you know, the first time you throw the idea out there,it gets, you know, somebody loses their mind over it, you write a hit song.Or you may have one like this, that you throw out there 150 different timesover the course of eight years, which I did,and we could never figure out how to write it, or people hated the idea.I remember, I'm in the age range to remember,Get Rich or Die Trying, and the people out there that know, know. And I thought, boy, that's a crappy alternative to not getting rich.Dying, damn, there's got to be a better alternative than that.I thought, hell, I'd rather just get drunk if I don't get rich. And so I had this idea, and I threw it out to this one, and this one,and this one, and this one, and this one, and different songwriting meetings, and I don't know, finally, it stuck. It stuck with somebody, and I had the song title, didn't have a clue how to write it, and Casey Beathard, who's Hall of Famer,he figured out how to do it.But it's fun, we've been playing it live.If You, Me, and Whiskey wasn't the single, that would have been my pick for the next single.
