Part of the
answer but not the whole thing.
LSD is a molecule that is shaped a lot like serotonin.
Serotonin
is a very important neurotransmitter involved
with mood and a whole lot of other things.
There are receptors in your brain that
are configured to receive serotonin.
And as it
happens,
the LSD molecule fits into those receptors
even more tightly or perfectly than
serotonin itself.
That's one of the reasons that LSD lasts so long.
I
don't know of any cases where that has actually happened.
There are certainly people who have
had psychotic relations with psychedelics.
Many experience the triggers of the feeling.
Psychedelics are one of them.
So if you're going crazy,
there's definitely an out there.
Not many people avoid psychedelics.
It doesn't happen very often,
but it happens once.
That's a big problem.
At AngelCore3 asked,
how do I avoid having a bad trip?
We have the research trials that have been
going on over the last couple of years.
They've been giving us really helpful advice.
They call them the flight instructor.
This is what they tell you.
If you feel like you're going crazy,
dying,
melting,
dissolving,
don't fight it.
Go with it.
Surrender.
Relax your mind and float downstream,
as John Lennon famously said.
Even with that good advice,
there are scary things that may happen.
Dark things happen.
It may be a tough process.
I think people often understand going
in that that's a part of the deal.
That's why guidance is so important.
If somebody hits you, hold your hand.
More important,
that there's someone to talk it through afterwards,
help you process it
and interpret it.
At Iaintnobizdit asked,
what's ego death and why do you all want to?
I
noticed out there,
it's a slow, cloudy coast.
Then it goes all around and spread out.
I looked at it and I said, that's beautiful.
The reason this is appealing is if you accept it,
you surrender to it,
you're feeling pretty quite ecstatic.
Because after a while,
your ego comes down and you have this sense of merging the cosmos.
It's amazing.
After I've been described as...
Losing tiny doses of psychedelic age.
One family,
big up.
It's a normal thing,
that's cool.
And then people think that it's to improve their well-being,
to earn some gain,
or gain.
But it's important to state that we really have no idea.
The placebo effect is very powerful,
but all girls need it.
Particularly powerful in the case of psychedelics,
which we infuse so much magic power into.
At Shepsworth Bentley asked,
why does BNT cause the electric
distribution as opposed to acid or shroom?
These are a bit more subtle and flowy.
Timothy Leary spoke a lot about set and setting.
Set is your expectations going into the psychedelic experience.
Setting is the physical setting you're in.
So on Ayahuasca,
which we associate with the Amazon and the jungle,
people are constantly seeing cobras
and panthers and things like that.
Things like that.
