of the James Valentine collection on this record.
James wrote this really great song called Fortuneteller
and I heard it and was really excited about it.
We didn't want to change too much about it
because I liked how it was kind of this outer space,
kind of kid A sounding track.
It was just kind of really vibey and awesome and amazing
and didn't need to do much and it just worked.
I really like the sentiment and the idea behind it
and I think it's my favorite song you've ever written,
James.

I was messing around with some synth sounds
and came up with the sort of synth sound
that starts at the beginning
which sounds really dirty and wrong.
In fact,
when I played Fortuneteller for my parents
for the first time,
my dad's first response was,
are the speakers broken?
That's good.
That means you've done something that is truly impactful.
