Where did it go, all of that energy God only knows, but now there's nothing left of me
I used to be the pretty face, in the school photograph
The one I used to want so hard, but stayed the middle of the class
And in an effort to get on, I moved to the city
Where everybody knows, everybody knows, everything about every damn thing
I wear sophisticated clothes, and the life I believed in
But soon I wonder if, is this everything, or nothing at all
So where do I go?
To find a new energy
Deep down I know, there must be something here for me
Cause I'm a little bit logical, I'm not too cynical
So where a moment takes me, it's just plain magical
And in an effort to get on, I moved to the city
Where everybody knows, everybody knows, everything about every damn thing
I wear sophisticated clothes, and the life I believed in
But soon I wonder if, is this everything, or nothing at all
Nothing at all
Thank you.
