When Taylor Swift released her Speak Now album back in October 2010, it debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart in its first week of release. It sold over 1,047,000 copies, which is just astounding. And for this next song, a lot of people assume that we know who it's about because of the name in the song. Now, sometimes, you know, when you write a goodbye letter to somebody, it's called a Dear John letter. But some people felt like this was the most obvious in your face who this song was about. But here's what Taylor said inspired her to write this song. The song Dear John is sort of like the last email you would ever send to someone that you used to be in a relationship with. And usually people write this venting last email to someone and they say everything that they want to say to that person. And then they usually don't send it. But I guess by putting this song on the album, I guess I'm pushing send. Yeah. Did she ever hit send on this one? It is Dear John on Big Machine Radio.
