I live in this city but I hear that there's a lot of people out here wholike to camp. Is that true? Do we have any of you in the crowd? Campers. Okay I'vewritten a song for you. In the middle of the song there's something I want you todo. So I'll point it out. It's my tribute to country living. Oh I'm in love with a manwho loves to camp. He camps when it's sunny. He camps when it's damp. All heneeds is a tent, a sleeping roll, a pack of hot dogs, and a sack of charcoal. Hecamps in the desert. He camps in the snow. He says, baby come with me. I say no.You see I like hot showers and I like ice. The cool cotton sheets on my bedfeel so nice. I'm afraid of little animals. I'm scared of big bugs. I like thefeel of bare feet and a burr burr rug. I can't stand border sands, community, so if I saybaby stay with me. He says no.So I said why deprive yourself of the great circumference? It's taken man so long toinvent. And he says something about Walden. Throw him back to Woodstock. Livinghis life in a tent. And then he went on. I get so scared he's out there in thewild woods. Can you all make wild animal noises like you hear in the woods?See what I mean? How scary that is? And I heard some wild slug noises in there, I swear.Oh I can picture him now by a Babylon brook. Snapping at mosquitoes, sleepingbed on a hook. I could shoot a bear, sniffing around for something to steal. Oh bears, eat the hot dogs.Don't make my baby a meal. This whole scenario, it gave me such a fright. To think he could have stayed with me tonight. Where my air conditioner makes areal cool breeze. Not unlike the wind, whizzing through the trees. I got stories on myceiling. The glow in the dark will open up the windows. We can hear the birds in thepark. I'll put Wild Kingdom on my TV. This might not be camping, but it's prettyclose. Oh honey, I'll act as primitive as you want me to be. This might not becamping, but it's close enough for me.Thank you. Christine Lavin, listen to General P.D.C. live music show on HIP radio, 93.5 out of Hollister.
