Right now we are celebrating Fearless, and you know, I mentioned a little while ago that Taylor Swift tends to write a lot about love, but it's not always happy songs. Breathe is another sad song. I like sad songs. It's a song about having to say goodbye to somebody. And the chorus just says over and over again, I can't breathe without you, but I have to. And it's sort of like a mantra that I've said to myself on more than one occasion, like, I can't breathe without you, but I have to. I have to do this. I have to. I can't, but I have to. And so I wanted to write with Colby so bad because I've been such a fan of her record, and she was one of my favorite, favorite new artists of this last year. And I contacted her management and said, please let me write with her. I really want to meet her and I want to write with her. And so she came and did a show in Nashville and I made sure that I had that day off. And so I met with her at her management company and brought her this idea and we wrote it together. And it's about losing a person who feels like a piece of you, feels like a piece of you is missing, but you have to because you have no choice. Off of Fearless, this is Breathe on Big Machine Radio.
