I was almost at the summit,
moving headlong in the wind.
Climbing up the ladder to the top of Mount Don't Matter,
over bones of broken promises.
The open road called on me to make my getaway.
But the problems of my past were still gaining on me fast,
so I just took to running,
and wondered how long
I would last.
Help me make
these changes.
Show me where I need to go.
Help me make these changes.
I should have made so long ago.
The road I've been traveling on has led me where the pain is.
Lord, I want to be a better man.
Can you take me?
Take me as I am.
Running down this highway,
looking for a sign.
Thinking I should change my ways with things I'm leaning on.
Nothing ever seems to last.
On that dirty road leading down to Babylon.
Whoa.
I'd taken all my problems,
simply moved them down the line.
Placed with useless relics,
for myself and those who shrine.
Never knowing where I was going,
always thirsty to get somewhere.
When you don't know where you're going,
I'll roll to lead you there.
Help me make
these changes.
Show me where I need to go.
Help me make
these changes.
I should have made so long ago.
The road I've been traveling on has led me where the pain is.
Lord, I want to be a better man.
Can you take me?
Take me as I am.
Can you make me a
better man?
