الله سبحانه وتعالى
يذكر في كتابه شهر رمضان الذي أنزل فيه القرآن
أنه مطلق رمضان
فيه قرآن
حدى للناس
وبينات من الحدى من فرقان
وبينات من الحدى من فرقان
وبينات مظهر للحقاية
الذي يحلق ويساعد
هذه القرآن
والفرقان
وستحللها بين الحق والفرق
فمن شهد منكم الشهر فليصمح
فمن شهد منكم الشهر فليصمح
فمن شهد منكم الشهر فليصمح
فليصوم
the commencement of the month
فليصوم
let him commence in fasting
let him fast
if he observes the coming of Ramadan
وصلى الله سبحانه وتعالى
he has legislated
for us this season of the year
as a season of worship
this time
this opportunity
this موسم
من مواسم الخير
this righteous time of year
this goodly time of year
for us to give our hearts
and our souls what they need
which is the Quran
and guidance from Allah سبحانه وتعالى
and to
lessen
and to decrease in
giving our bodies
what our bodies crave
and our bodies desire
and so when a person does that
then their
body will cling
less to the earth
and have less of an attachment
to the earth
and their soul
will incline towards
the place that is
high and lofty
which is the paradise
and the good reward of Allah سبحانه وتعالى
الله سبحانه وتعالى
likewise said
إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ
فِي لَيْلَةٍ مُبَارَكَةٍ
indeed Allah سبحانه وتعالى
revealed it the Quran
in a Layla Mubarakah
in a blessed night
Allah سبحانه وتعالى
explained what this night is
and he said
إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةٍ قَدْرٍ
indeed Allah سبحانه وتعالى
in his greatness revealed it
the Quran
فِي لَيْلَةٍ قَدْرٍ
in the night of قدر
in the night of tremendous status
the night of power
the night of the divine decree
in which Allah سبحانه وتعالى
divulges
the
events of the next year
to those that are entrusted to carry out
those affairs from the ملائكة
of Allah سبحانه وتعالى
upon the earth
and throughout the universe of Allah سبحانه وتعالى
and the scholars
mention a tremendous example
that is found in the books of
ابن قيم رحمه الله تعالى
and a few different places in his book
عِدَةُ الصَّابِرِينَ
and likewise
in the book شَفَاهُ الْعَلِيلَ
which ابن قيم رحمه الله تعالى
compared the قدر of Allah
what Allah has foreordained in this dunya
and of trials and tests for mankind
to be like a بحر
to be like an ocean
and in order to
get to the other side of this ocean
and arrive safely for the meeting with Allah سبحانه وتعالى
then a person needs
مركب
they need some vessel
they need something to
sail upon
and so they need a سفينة
they need a boat
they need an ark
they need an ark or a ship like
that which was used by
نوح عليه الصلاة والسلام
ابن قيم رحمه الله تعالى
he mentions that this بحر
is like the قدر
and the قدر is like a بحر
is like an ocean
and the
what could happen is only known to Allah سبحانه وتعالى
there are so many possibilities
that are beyond a person's control
what can happen in a person's day to day life
and the only way to make it
safely across it is
by way of الأمر
by making what you want
line up with what Allah سبحانه وتعالى
wants and to make your understanding
in alignment with
what Allah سبحانه وتعالى has revealed
and so
this is the combination between
الأمر
and القدر
الله سبحانه وتعالى
revealed
his أمر
his religion
his divine commandment
guidance for mankind
on the night of decree
and there is a tremendous significance in this
it is guidance for mankind
how to navigate through
the difficulties of life
so that a person is saved from
fear
and from sadness
and from misguidance
and from أشقاء
الشيخ الإسلام
ابن التامية رحمه الله تعالى
he mentions in the beginning
of his مقدمة
of his primer
and أصول التفسير
he says
وحاجة الأمة ماس إلى فهم القرآن
that this ummah is in dire need
of understanding the
قرآن
الذي هو حبل الله المتين
this قرآن which is
the unbreakable rope of Allah سبحانه وتعالى
وذكر الحكيم
and the wise reminder
from Allah سبحانه وتعالى
والصراط المستقيم
and which is the straight path
provided by Allah سبحانه وتعالى
لا تزيغ به الأهواء
ولا تلتبس به الألسن
it cannot be corrupted
or warped
or
misshapen
by the
desires or whims
or fancies of people
nor by the tongues of people
ولا يخلق عن كثرة الترديد
ولا يخلق عن كثرة الترديد
it cannot become faded
and old and worn out
and without value
because of كثرة الترديد
no matter how much a person
was to repeat
and to recite
and to review
and to study what is in it
no matter how much a person does that
the قرآن never gets old
ولا تنقذ عجائبه
ولا يشبع منه العلماء
ولا تنقذ عجائبه
and the astonishing things that a person comes across
the amazing things that a person finds
as they study the قرآن
are without limit
and it is something that the علماء
that those who have knowledge of the religion
never get enough of
and a person can never get their full of it
no matter how much
they learn of it
they want more of it
مَنْ حُمَان لَيَشْبَعَان
مَنْ حُمَان لَيَشْبَعَان
there are two hungers
that cannot be satisfied
مَنْ حُمٌ فِي الدُّنْيَا لَيَشْبَعَ
وَمَنْ حُمٌ فِي الْعِلْمِ لَيَشْبَعَ
a hunger for the دُّنْيَا
can never be satisfied
and a hunger for knowledge
can never be satisfied
and so the more a person learns
the more they thirst for knowledge
and that which is
the sustenance and the nutrition
of their heart and their soul
الله سبحانه وتعالى
He created
mankind
originally
and placed their
forefathers
their forefathers
their earliest descendants
آدم و حواء
in the paradise
ابن قيم رحمه الله تعالى
he has a one on one lines of poetry
in his ميمية
وَحَيَّ عَلَى جَنَّاتِ عَدَلٍ فَإِنَّهَا
مَنَازِلُكَ الْأُولَى
وَفِيهَا الْمُخَيَّمُ
وَلَكِنَّ نَسَبِيَ الْعَدُوِّ فَهَنْ تَرَى
نَعُودُ إِلَى أَوْطَارِينَ
وَنُسَلَّمُوا
come to the gardens of
عَدِن of eternal life
the gardens of paradise
فَإِنَّهَا
for indeed those gardens مَنَازِلُكَ الْأُولَى
are your original abodes and homes
وَفِيهَا الْمُخَيَّمُ
and within them are the مُخَيَّم
the believer will have a خيمة
and the palaces and the homes of the paradise
that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم
described as being
like 70 nautical miles
wide and high
and these enormous structures
that Allah جل جلاله
builds or has built
in the paradise for the believer
and that contain within them
the family of the believer
and these sorts of things
your home is in the paradise
a person should have nostalgia
and should be homesick
and should long to return home
as a point of these lines of poetry
that Ibn Al-Qayyim
mentions
وَفِيهَا الْمُخَيَّمُ وَلَكِنَّ نَاسَبِيَ الْعَدُوِّ فَهَنْ تَرَى نَعُودُ إِلَىٰ أُطَانِيْنَا وَنُسَلَّمُوا
however we find ourselves
captives to our enemy
any to our أنفس
that order us with evil
to the شَيْطَان
some people are captives of the شَيْطَان
and being controlled and manipulated
by the devils of the جِنْكَان
and mankind
فَهَلْ تَرَى نَعُودُ إِلَىٰ أَوْطَانِيْنَا وَنُسَلَّمُوا
فَهَلْ تَرَى نَعُودُ إِلَىٰ أَوْطَانِيْنَا وَنُسَلَّمُوا
don't you think that we should return back
to our أوطان to our homelands
وَنُسَلَّمُوا
and find and surrender ourselves
to that place and find safety
in that place
and so this is a condition of the human being
his original
home to his homeland
and this is the أَهْدَ
of الله سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَانَى
that Allah has given mankind
to navigate from this دنيا
back to the place from which
he originated
and his earliest ancestor originated
الله سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَانَى
mentioned as much
in سورة البقرة
in the story of the حديثة
of what transpired in the incident
between آدم عليه الصلاة والسلام
and إبليس الملعون
in the beginning of time
as well as
mentioning this
in the same instance
and the same
benefit in a different way
in سورة الطاحة
الله سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَانَى
in سورة البقرة
قُلْ نَحْبِتُ مِنْهَا جَمِيعًا
دعا الله and his greatness
after آدم and his wife
fell into the sin that they fell into
and ate from the forbidden tree
الله and his greatness
قُلْ نَحْبِتُ مِنْهَا جَمِيعًا
all of you depart from the
paradise
فَإِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُ مِنِّي حُدًى
and
if
and when guidance comes to you from me at any time
إِمَّا
ابن القائم says that the statement
إِمَّا
is a conditional statement
that in the instance
in the condition
مَا
at any time
guidance comes to you from الله سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَانَى
فَمَنْ تَبِعَهَا
and whoever follows
and pursues my guidance
فَلَا خَوْفُونْ عَلَيْهِمْ
وَأَلَاهُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
then there shall be no fear
upon them nor
will they grief
there shall be no fear upon them
nor will they grief
meaning that they will have nothing to fear
as relates what awaits them in the future
and they will have nothing to be sad about
as pertains what transpired
in the past of misdeeds
or that which they left behind
that Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى
will remedy
for them what was done in the past
and will
facilitate for them felicity
and happiness in their futures
ابن قيم
رحمة الله عليه
he explains
this passage and the one in سورة طاحة
in
around 50 to
60 to 70 pages or so in his book مفتاح
دار سعادة
in great detail in great detail
discussing
the Ahd of Allah
the covenant of Allah سبحانه وتعالى
that Allah has
with Adam and the offspring of Adam
the sons and the daughters of Adam
he says
رحمة الله تعالى at the very beginning
of his lengthy discussion
on these verses
he says
لَمَّا أَهْبَتَ اللَّهُ آدَمًا مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ
that when Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى
removed Adam
from the Paradise مَعَ الرَّبُّةِ
وَذُرِّيَّتُهُ
لِعَنْوَاءِ الْمِحَنِي
وَالْبَلَاءِ
and subjected
he and his offspring
to all varieties
of calamities and afflictions
and tests
أَعْطَاهُمْ أَفْضَرَ مِمَّا مَنَعَهُمْ
he gifted them
and blessed them with
something greater than what he had taken from them
something greater than
what had been
taken from them
and that Iblis
came under the guise of a ناصح أمين
of a sincere
trustworthy advisor
to Adam and he said
هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى شَجَرَةِ الْخُلِّ
وَمُلْكِينَ لَا يَبْلَى
shall I not point you to
the tree of eternal life
and a kingdom that will never vanish
it was the greatest fear of Adam
that he knew his lifespan
would come to an end and he had been informed
in the beginning of
his life
how long he would live
and he knew that he could not live in paradise forever
and that someday it would come to an end
and so
Iblis approached him
from this angle
he approached him from this angle
and he led him astray
وَقَاسَمَهُمَ بِغُرور
and he swore upon Allah
deceptively
الإمام محمد الأمين الشنقيتي رحمه الله تعالى
he said that
it must have been unimaginable
for Adam
to hear somebody swear upon Allah
كذباً
lying
while swearing upon Allah سبحانه وتعالى
and that perhaps
إبليس swearing upon Allah
while lying
and pretending and feigning
to give good advice
is what confused Adam
and made Adam forget
the reality of إبليس
being his enemy
and being one who had
jealousy and hostility
against him
على كلٍّ
whatever the case
what had been taken from them
was the ability
to live in the paradise
the ability to
live in the paradise
temporarily
until one dies
and so when Adam and his wife
fell into this sin
and removed them from the paradise
ابن القيم رحمه الله تعالى
said that what was given to them in exchange
was even greater
than what was taken from them
because what was given to them in exchange
which is the covenant of Allah
and the guidance of Allah سبحانه وتعالى
is that which
would eventuate
and result in
those who abide by
and prove loyal to this covenant
and this trust
it would lead them to
dwelling eternally in the paradise
being able to reside in the paradise
أبد الأعباد
forever for eternity
may Allah make us from them
he says رحمه الله تعالى
أعطاهم أفضل مما منعهم
أعطاهم أفضل مما منعهم
الله سبحانه وتعالى
gave them better
than what he deprived them of
than what he took away from them
وهو أهده
which is his covenant
which is the covenant of الله سبحانه وتعالى
إليه
that he entrusted
آدم with
وإلى بنيه
and that which he entrusted
the children of آدم
with
وأخبر أنه من تمسك به فهو صار من تمسك به منهم صار إلى رضوانه ودار كرامته
and he informed
that whichever from amongst them
held fast to that covenant
that they would
ultimately attain
the pleasure of الله سبحانه وتعالى
سبحانه وتعالى
and the world
that Allah has prepared as an honorable
reward for the believers
the paradise
that a person would attain the paradise eternally
that they hold fast to the covenant
الله سبحانه وتعالى
سورة طه
he says
along these lines
قال حبيثاء
منها جميعا بعضكم لبعض عدو
منها جميعا بعضكم لبعض عدو
الله سبحانه وتعالى قال
leave from the paradise
get down from the paradise
get out of the paradise
all of you
بعضكم لبعض عدو
you will be enemies towards one another
and it is a situation
where people without guidance
and people without
the help of الله سبحانه وتعالى
it becomes a conflict
of all against all
and a very difficult
and dark and gloomy
situation
and so if this was
all that people get in this world
that it is a war of all
and a conflict of all against all
that this would be
a state of chaos and a miserable existence
however الله سبحانه وتعالى
he gives the acceptance
to that
those who are spared
from this condition of
perpetual misery
and confusion and so on and so forth
he says
تبارك وتعالى
how a person can overcome
the adversity that they face
and can overcome the hardships of life
and so on and so forth
when he said تبارك وتعالى بعضكم لبعض عدو
that you will be
enemies to one another therein
فإما يأتيننا
منك مني حدا
فمن اتبع هدايا
فلا يظل ولا يشقى
فلا يظل ولا يشقى
whenever guidance comes to you
from me as guidance comes to you
from me and whoever
follows my guidance لا يظل
ولا يشقى
then such a person لا يظل
will never go astray
such a person will not be
in a state of ظلالة
will not be in a state of misguidance and confusion
ولا يشقى
nor will they be in a situation of misery
or
doom and destruction
so الله سبحانه وتعالى
guaranteed as a
result of those who hold fast
to his أحد which is his حدا
his covenant which is his guidance
which is the revelation that was sent for the
guidance of mankind in the form of scripture
divine scripture
that whoever does this that they will be
spared from
everything that is
مرحوب
and everything that is dreaded
and everything that is loathed
and feared
ابن قيم رحمه الله تعالى
after some lengthy discussion
he says one مقصود
that in summary what Allah is saying here
أن الله سبحانه جعل
اتباع هداه وأهده
الذي أهده
إلى آدم سبب
مقتضي لعدم الخوف
والحزن والضرور
والشق
الله سبحانه وتعالى
has made
there to result from
following his guidance
and abiding by
one's covenant that they have with
الله سبحانه وتعالى
what comes as a result of that
that this is a سبب
this is the means that necessitates
that a person will be spared
from fear
and sadness
and misguidance
and misery
according to
what is understood is according to
how much a person holds fast to the guidance
the happier their life will be
and the more they will be spared
of these things
نفي الخوف والحزن عن متبع الحدا
نفي لجميع أنواع الشرور
نفي لجميع أنواع الشرور
and Allah سبحانه وتعالى
negating and deflecting away
from those who follow
the guidance
negating الخوف والحزن
fear and sadness
from them
Allah سبحانه وتعالى
negating and cancelling out
or deflecting away from them
every variety of
painful, difficult, hard thing
every type of evil imaginable
and according to
how much they follow the guidance
will be how much they are spared
from that which they fear
and how much they attain
that which they love
so Allah سبحانه وتعالى
we find these themes in the Quran
the themes that I mentioned
in the very beginning of the Quran
in the Fatiha
in the opening of the book
اهدنا الصراط المستقيم
guide us to and upon
the straight path
make us arrive at the straight path
and guide us upon it
and guide us through the straight path
and he guides us
to the straight path
صراط الذين أنعمت عليهم
the path of those
that you have placed your نعمة upon
the path of those
that you have placed
your نعمة upon
there are three themes
Ibn Al-Qayyim رحمه الله تعالى
explains in some detail in his book
الفوائد that are the recurring themes
of the Quran and they are
الحداء التقاء الفلاح
that Allah couples
guidance with
تقوى with righteousness
and piety and
conscious fear
of Allah سبحانه وتعالى
in the mind of the human being
that makes them behave correctly
يعني with الفلاح
with success
so the more a person has
of an innate love for
things that are elements of التقوى
قبل نزول الكتاب
Ibn Al-Qayyim mentions
before the coming of the book
before the book arrives
they find the scripture
before they find the Quran
that when they
read what is in it
that they will take it as guidance
and that will make them even more righteous
and that will guide them further
and that will make them more righteous
and as this process goes on
they will increase in فلاح
they will increase in success
they will attain everything that they
could ever desire of the good
of this world and the next
and be protected from everything
that is dreaded and harmful
in this world and the next
and so
الله سبحانه وتعالى
has guaranteed in his book
سبحانه وتعالى
that whoever follows the أحد of الله
whoever follows the
covenant of الله سبحانه وتعالى
that they will be
successful
and that they will be set
aright and guided
in their behavior and guided in their
understandings
it was reported
in the Musnad of Imam Ahmad رحمه الله تعالى
and likewise reported by
الطبراني إلى المعجم الكبير
and the authority
of واثل ابن الأسقع
a hadith that is great to be
صحيح by Shaykh al-Albani رحمه الله تعالى
in a number of places in his writings
such as سلسلة الحديث الصحيحة
that the messenger of
الله صلى الله عليه وسلم
said اعطيت مكان
التوراة سبعة
سبعة طوال
in place of the Torah
the Torah that was given
to Musa
the speech of Allah the words of Allah the guidance
of Allah that was given to the Prophet
Musa Moses
I have been granted I have been gifted the
سبعة طوال
the seven long chapters of the Quran
which are the
chapters beginning with البقرة
and ending with سورة الأنفار
and سورة التوبة
which are considered to be like a single
سورة considered to be like a single
سورة a single chapter of the Quran
by the early scholars
of Islam from the صحابة and those who
followed them in goodness in place
of the Torah I was given
the seven طوال the seven
long chapters of the Quran
وعطيت مكان الزبور المئين
وعطيت مكان الزبور المئين
and in place of the زبور the Psalms
of داود عليه الصلاة والسلام
I have been granted المئين
المئين are the
chapters of the Quran that are
nearly 100 verses
in length or right
past 100 verses in length or
longer than that outside of the
سبعة طوال
what was mentioned
from بقرة to
from بقرة all the way to
سورة الأنفار
and سورة التوبة
سورة البراعة as it is called
the chapters that are
over 100 verses in length or right around
100 verses in length they are called المئين
and the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم
said that he was gifted
these chapters of the Quran in place
of the زبور
وعطيت مكان الانجيل المثاني
وعطيت مكان الانجيل المثاني
and in place of the انجيل
in place of the Gospel
of the انجيل of عيسى بن مريم
that was received by عيسى
Jesus the son of مريم
عليهما الصلاة والسلام
may Allah exalt their mention and grant them
peace that
he was given المثاني
which are the chapters of the Quran
that are less than 100 verses
in length that are
before the مفصل
that are before the مفصل or outside of the مفصل
which are from حجرات
to the end of the Quran
the chapters that are before
حجرات that are
less than 100 verses in length
the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم
was given that in place of
the انجيل
and that is because the Quran
as we know is محيمن
and it contains within it
it safeguards the contents of the previous
scriptures everything from the
أصول مشتركة
from the shared fundamentals of the
Prophets and the Messengers as it relates to belief
in Allah, belief in
the Prophets
belief in the Last Day
the stories of the Prophets
what transpired between them and their nations
how Allah made examples of previous nations
and destroyed the disbelievers and the wicked and the oppressive
and so on and so forth
that all of that subject matter
as it relates to high
lofty morality and
justice and fairness and honesty
and integrity and all those things that are
naturally loved by the human being
and that are part and parcel
of the teachings of the Prophets and the Messengers
صلى الله عليه وسلم
they have been safeguarded
by the Quran
and everything that can be found in the توراة
or the زبور
or the انجيل
is safeguarded in the contents of the Quran
and the Prophets
صلى الله عليه وسلم
وَفُضِلْتُ بِالْمُفَصَّلِ
and I have been given the exceptional
فضل
and the exceptional merit
or honor of the مُفَصَّل
of receiving the مُفَصَّل
مُفَصَّل
and they are the detailed
سورة
of the Quran
chapters of the Quran
that begin with سورة الحجرات
and end with سورة الناس
that are the shorter chapters
of the Quran
towards the end of the Quran
that are of great benefit
that were used by the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم
most frequently
in the صلوات الجحرية
and the prayers that are prayed aloud
and these are the chapters of the Quran
that one should preoccupy
with learning before
entering into بقرة
or the beginning of the Quran
and the longer سور
the longer chapters of the Quran
that are needed for a person
for their regular prayers
and for their night prayers
and this sort of thing
and to have a good grasp
of the meanings of the Quran
ابن قايم
in his book مفتاء
he mentions
that the contents of all of the previous
scriptures are safeguarded by the Quran
and contained within the Quran
and the contents of the Quran
are summarized
by the مفصل
and the contents of the مفصل
are summarized by
سورة الفاتحة
and سورة الفاتحة is summarized
in the statement
إياك نعبدوا وإياك نستعين
Oh Allah you alone do we worship
and your assistance
and aid alone do we seek
and so in this month
as we
look for guidance
and how to worship Allah correctly
and seek the assistance of Allah
and navigating through
what Allah سبحانه وتعالى
has foreordained in our lives
and the worlds around us
and this sort of thing
that we must pause and reflect
and take note of what is in the Book of Allah
سبحانه وتعالى
and benefit thereby
the great Imam Muhammad
ابن الحسين الأجوري
الأجوري رحمه الله تعالى
has a tremendous book
that is called أداب حملة القرآن
in which he gives some
really important advices
at the very beginning of the book
that are very short
yet very impactful
and very meaningful
as relates to
how a person
can benefit from the Quran
as he recites the Quran
he says رحمه الله تعالى
ألا ترون رحمكم الله
إلى موناكم الكريم
كيف يحث خلقه
على أن يتدبر كلامه
don't you
see how your
kind and generous
guardian lord الله
سبحانه وتعالى
encourages his creation
he says may Allah have mercy upon him
don't you see how he encourages his creation
to contemplate
over his words, over his speech
the Quran is the speech of الله
سبحانه وتعالى
ومن تدبر كلامه
and whoever was to contemplate
over the speech of الله
عرفها الرب عز وجل
then they will find the following things
one he says
they will become familiar with
and knowledgeable about
and aware of their lord
their nurturing lord and creator
and provider and sustainer
الله عز وجل
the mighty and majestic
more specifically
وعرف عظيم سلطانه وقدرته
they will become familiar with and aware of
the tremendous authority
and power of
their lord
سبحانه وتعالى
furthermore
وعرف عظيم تفضله على المؤمنين
and they will become
acquainted with and familiar with
and aware of
and knowledgeable about
the extent of the
tremendous favor
and graciousness of their lord
upon the believers
how الله سبحانه وتعالى aids
and victory and assistance to
the believers in this world
and on the day of judgment
when the witnesses will stand
in front of الله سبحانه وتعالى
he says
وعرف ما عليه من فرض عبادته
furthermore
he will become familiar with
and aware of and knowledgeable about
the فرض عبادة
يعني
the acts of worship
that الله سبحانه وتعالى
gives the human being
upon oneself
فألزم نفسه الواجب
فألزم نفسه الواجب
and he will force
himself therefore
upon having this knowledge
he will compel himself
to adhere to and abide by
what is mandatory
what is expected
from him by الله سبحانه وتعالى
فهذر مما حذره مولاه الكريم
فهذر مما حذره مولاه الكريم
so he will be
that which الله سبحانه وتعالى
has warned him of
ورغب فيما رغبه فيه
and he will have a desire and a longing
for that which الله سبحانه وتعالى
has encouraged him with
and incentivized a reward for him
ومن كانت هذه صفته
and whoever matches this description
he says
whoever is like this عند تلاوته للقرآن
as they read the quran
وعند استماعه من خيره
and whenever they hear others
recite the quran
if they are like this
that they think about their lord
and his names and his attributes
and his authority and his power
and they think about the tremendous favor
of الله سبحانه وتعالى
upon them
and they think about what
الله سبحانه وتعالى
wants from us
and expects from us
and requires from us
of worship
and this is
what they get from the quran
and so it makes them want
what الله سبحانه وتعالى wants for them
and makes them cautious of
and wary of that which الله سبحانه وتعالى
has warned them from
whoever is like this when they recite the quran
or when they hear others recite the quran
كان القرآن له شفاء
and the quran will be a cure
for such a person
the quran will be a cure
for such a person
it will remedy the ills
of that person
of his heart
of his psyche
of his personality
of his family
of his community
so on and so forth
according to his application
of this medicine that is in the quran
and the remedies that are found
in the quran
the quran will be له شفاء
will be a cure
for such a person
فاستغنى بلا مال
a person will find himself wealthy
even if he doesn't have wealth
and property and money
وعز بلا عشيرة
he will find himself dignified and honored
even if he doesn't have an عشيرة
an influential or wealthy
or powerful family
وأنس بما يستوحش منه غيره
and he will find comfort
in that which others
find discomfort in
where others cannot find comfort
he will find that no matter what his situation
is that he is comfortable
and he is pleased with الله سبحانه وتعالى
and he is patient with adversity
and so on and so forth
and he will find peace and heart no matter what
he goes through and he will find comfort
with seeking beneficial knowledge
whereas others might not find that same comfort
in learning their religion
they may see things about their self
that are discomforting
that make them not want to live with their selves
and give them some type of dissonance
or something of the sort
the person who takes the method
this great Imam in reading the Quran
he will find comfort
where others cannot find comfort
and he will find
relaxation where others cannot
and his concern
and his preoccupation
as he reads a surah
when he opens up a surah and begins
the chapter of the Quran
any chapter of the Quran
مَا تَأَتَّعِذُ بِمَا أَتْلُو
مَا تَأَتَّعِذُ بِمَا أَتْلُو
his concern will be
when will I receive a maw'idah
when will I act upon the maw'idah
when will I take admonition
from that which I recite
from that which I am reciting
وَلَمْ يَكُنْ مُرَادُهُ
مَا تَأَخْتِمُ السُّورَةَ
and his intention
and his desire when I be
just to think about how quickly
he can recite the surah
when will he be able to finish the surah
memorizing what he is reciting
at the moment
but rather he will be thinking about how
it can be used to mobilize
and move his heart
to mobilize and move his heart
وَإِنَّ مَا مُرَادُهُ
مَا تَعَقِلُ عَنِ اللَّهِ الْخِطَابِ
مَا تَعَقِلُ عَنِ اللَّهِ الْخِطَابِ
مَا تَعَقِلُ عَنِ اللَّهِ الْخِطَابِ
but rather his intention
and his outlook in approaching
any chapter of the Quran
as he opens it up
and as he begins the first verses of it
when will I truly understand
what Allah has addressed to me
مَا تَأَزْدَجِرُ
when will I be dissuaded and discouraged
from that which Allah has warned me of
and dissuaded me against
and discouraged me from
مَا تَأَتَبِرُ
when will I take lesson
when will I learn the lessons and the morals
that are to be found in the teachings of the Quran
لِأَنَّ تِلَاوَتَهُ لِلْقُرْآنِ عِبَادًا
لِأَنَّ تِلَاوَتَهُ لِلْقُرْآنِ عِبَادًا
and this is because one's recitation
of the Quran is a form of worship
عِبَادَتُ لَا تَكُونُ بِغَفْلًا
and an act of worship
cannot be done in a state of غفلة
cannot be done in a state of
mindlessness, of absent-mindedness
of a person being unfocused and so on and so forth
when a person is engaged in worship
they must be focused in their intention
trying to get the maximum benefit
from what they are doing
this is how a person is as they recite the Quran
in the month of Ramadan
and outside of the month of Ramadan
the person who is like this
who benefits from the guidance of the Quran
مَدَى بِحُدَاهُ
then he will increase in taqwa
he will increase in falah
he will increase in success
he will increase in righteousness
he will have an increase and a growth
in his Iman
in his Iman
and in his having the traits
the qualities and the characteristics
that are incorporated
by the people of Iman
he will be of a benefit for himself
and a benefit for others
he will be from those people
لَا يَذِلُّوا وَلَا يَشْقَى
who are saved from every harm in this world
and the next
and who attain every good in this world
and the next
we ask Allah
سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَانَى
for guidance
we ask Allah
سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَانَى
for guidance
and for righteousness
and the qualities of righteousness
and we ask Allah
سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَانَى
for satisfaction
and for the ability to stay away
from that which is harmful for us
and contentment of the soul
and richness of the soul
هَذَا وَصَلَ لَهُمَّا وَسَلِّمْ
وَبَارِكْ عَلَى نَبِيَّنَ مُحَمَّدٍ
وَعَلَى آنِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ وَسَلَّمْ
وَبَارِكْ عَلَى نَبِيَّنَ مُحَمَّدٍ
