So listen, I want to explore this question around how do you become more bold.
And the first question I want to ask is this.
You know, are institutions dead today?
Because I have this belief that we are in a renaissance.
We are in the age of the individual.
The power is shifting from organizations to individuals today.
You see this in every single industry.
You see it in sports.
You know, we follow players more than teams.
You see it in media.
We trust people more than the traditional news outlets.
You see it in politics.
I mean, we trust the person more than the party.
That's why we got 2016.
So the power is shifting to individuals.
Today, as an individual, we have more power, more media than ever before.
It has fundamentally democratized the idea of putting your ideas out in the world.
It's incredible.
And a lot of people think that this is just for young people.
But it's actually...
It's actually for old people as well.
Like, I'll give you an example.
My favorite TikToker.
He's 90 years old.
His name is Grandpa Joe.
This man is the GOAT.
Hey, Pop.
What, Dad?
Would you rather, A, spend the rest of your life with your wife, or B...
B!
It's the GOAT.
I love him.
5.5 million followers.
Amazing.
No, no.
But to me, what's happened is that because of this power shift,
like, we're now empowering the individual to do their best work at the highest level
within an organization or outside of the organization.
I really believe that we are in this, like, renaissance period.
And a lot of people ask me, well, what about, like, you know, the gig economy or, like, Uber drivers?
And I'm like, well, listen, if you want to do Uber at the highest level,
if you want to be the best Uber driver in the world, then absolutely.
You're part of this new renaissance.
But most Uber drivers...
Most Uber drivers that I meet, you know, they have other passions.
I'll give you an example of this.
I was in Toronto a number of months ago, and there's a really nice woman that picked me up.
Her name is Jacqueline.
She had a 4.99 rating.
That was very good.
And she picked me up, and her day job was a makeup artist.
And I remember she was driving me, and she was complaining to me that now there's all these girls that are doing makeup tutorials on YouTube.
There's all these girls doing freelance makeup.
All these girls doing these TikTok trends.
And they're doing all of this without a cosmetology license.
I said, that's crazy.
I said, there's also all these people that are picking up random people from the street without a taxi license.
It's wild.
And so, you know, to me, you know, the gig economy is not part of this.
But, you know, I believe that we're in this sort of new renaissance period.
But we also have to ask ourselves, like, have we created a new religion in a sense?
Like, have we created a new religion?
You know, I'm not, like, a religious scholar by any means.
But I believe that every individual worships.
Like, it's in our DNA.
I'm not talking about mythical gods or narratives.
I'm talking about, like, idolizing fictional characters or people.
Like, I'll give you an example of this.
My son, his name is Dion.
He's three years old.
And he worships the worst religion, in my opinion, which is Papa Troll.
As context around this, as context, my mother, she's here.
Thank you, Mom.
I'm just going to do something for you here.
Every morning, my mom is Hindu.
She's very religious.
Every morning, she prays.
Every morning, she prays.
She's like, Gurudev, Gurudev, Gurudev.
And then my son, every morning, is like,
Chase, Marshall, Zuma.
This is actually the prayer room of my mom.
And this is the prayer room of my son.
It's the same thing.
It's the same thing.
No, it's wild because, you know, this idea of worship is in our DNA.
And what's happened is that individuals have become,
like, new religions, like the Kardashians or Elon or Rogan or Portnoy.
You don't have to know any of these people.
But as individuals, you live in your particular world
and you like and engage and consume people that you're into.
Have we created a new religion because of this?
And by the way, this is not new by any means.
It's not new.
This has happened across centuries.
But what's happened now is the world has been fractured into millions of religions
because of this one.
There is a new place of worship.
I believe that the phone is the new church.
The phone is the new church.
You know, we used to ask God questions like,
when will my kid stop crying?
When will I quit my job?
When will my boss die?
Now, we just ask our phone this.
You know, and we would always think, you know, God has all the answers.
God knows everything.
But our phone knows us way better than God does.
It knows where we're going.
It knows what we're eating.
It knows who we're hooking up with.
It knows us way better than God.
So there is a new church.
And actually, I believe that you, like, the phone is a gateway to your soul.
I believe that you can learn a lot.
You can learn a lot about somebody just by looking through their phone.
And actually, I'm going to try something crazy.
I want to know, if some people are open, I want to just look into your phone.
It's going to be streamed here.
It's real.
If people, some people are like, no, not me.
*, not what?
You got one?
All right, can we reach that person?
What do you think?
We got anybody else?
No, I like you.
You can hop on.
Okay, let's get him.
Let's get him.
Can we get him?
Okay, let me just, let me walk over here.
Sit here.
Sit here.
All right, man.
Hey, what's your name?
It's Brady.
Brady.
Brady.
Oh, yeah, no, Brady.
Oh, here, here, take this.
What's up?
Brady.
You're a famous TikToker.
Yeah, what's up, man?
How many followers you got on TikTok?
As of right now, it's like 108K.
108.
Wow.
Wow.
So, like, yeah, wow.
Clap it up.
Thank you.
Thank you.
It means a lot.
*, it means a lot.
Can you take, can you take one okay and go to TD Bank and then convert that?
Does that, how does that work?
If we could, I'd be rich right now.
Okay, okay.
But that's not the case in Canada.
All right.
Where's your phone?
Is this it?
He's got it.
All right.
Let's see if this works.
Let's see if we can.
Yeah.
No single?
Okay, I'm sorry.
Well, listen, it was really nice meeting you and it wasn't working.
So, I'm actually, oh, you got a snap from Tyler Shepard.
Is that your?
Yeah.
No, no, in any case.
That's a homie.
You want me to pull up the snap with all the blondes?
No, no, no, it's all good.
Thank you.
Hey, hey, give it up for Brady.
Do we have anybody else?
Because otherwise this would be, we got somebody else?
Thank you guys.
You in?
