My picturesque hometown is nestled by farms
Its main street can barely contain its own
charms Green hills roll down to a river that winds
As the beautiful valley lays behind
But it's only a memory
How has this come to be?
God, I just want to go home
Easy days filled with backyard games Faces filled with genuine smiles
Friends I have known from just a lad Riding bikes for miles and miles
But it's only
a memory It's not what's in front of me
Oh, I just want to go back
Laying on clouds I feel no rain
I'm always tucked in with love
I gaze at the world and see nothing but
joy And I ride on the wings of a dove
But it's only a memory It's all gone away from me
Can't someone make it come back?
Oh God, please just bring it back
